Aviation DTLP
The MD4025 FR
Aviation Damage Tolerant Life Preserver (DTLP) is designed to withstand a
direct hit from a fire arm or fragment and still be manually inflated
by the user when required.(US Patent 6,453,840, Canadian Patent
2,392,416)
The Aviation DTLP is used by tactical rotary wing aircrew conducting operations in hostile environments.
The
MD4025 FR uses a manual inflator, and is covered with fire retardant
fabrics. The cell can be inflated with a simple pull of the beaded
handle and an oral inflation tube provides backup inflation. Each
DTLP contains two inflatable cells. If one cell is compromised prior to
inflation, the other cell can be inflated to provide full flotation
performance.
The DTLP comes with a harness (US Patent 6,453,840,
Canadian Patent 2,392,416) and can be integrated with most ballistic
vests. The 65 lb. buoyancy provides extra flotation to compensate for
the weight of equipment and arms carried on missions.
An
optional Kevlar® based ballistic pouch (MA4050) is available to contain
shrapnel in the event of a direct hit on the CO2 cylinder.
